Cory Castro coaching on the sideline

You don't need a perfect situation. You need a plan for yours.

The Path

Ten years of D1 football. Head Strength & Conditioning at 28.

2021–present

University of Texas

Assistant Athletic Performance Coach

I own all physical development for the Quarterbacks (weight room, corrective work, pre-practice, position meetings) and the Specialists. I'm the athletic-training-room liaison: I program every injury modification and design the return-to-play protocols. I also run weight-room outfitting and the vendor relationships.

2016–2021

UC Berkeley

Assistant S&C

Quarterback training, return-to-play reconditioning, and load management with Catapult, force plates, and Athos.

2015–2016

Lamar University

Head S&C

I ran football plus all 14 Olympic sports and mentored staff. Head coach by roughly age 28.

2012–2015

Lamar & Louisiana-Monroe

Assistant / Graduate Assistant

Where the foundation got laid. I climbed this the real way, one room at a time.

The Winning Formula

Four things that don't change, whoever I'm coaching.

The résumé is the proof. The creed is the reason it holds up. This is the standard every athlete gets from me, whether they're a college starter or an executive rebuilding after a decade away.

01

Relationships first

Trust = Time × Consistency. The program only works when the relationship is real.

02

Demanding, never demeaning

Accountable and hard, driven through a positive lens. Standards, not shame.

03

Intentional & adaptable

Every decision has a reason. Every plan bends to the athlete in front of me.

04

Well-researched

A deep research base in hamstring injury and training-load management: the science is the floor, not the flex.

Clinics, team talks and coaching education on return-to-play, load management and building a performance department. Start with the intake and note that it's a speaking request.
